Framed Shower Screen Installation in Andergrove

Supply and Install Barley Framed Glass Shower Screen

The Project
The owners of this house wanted us to remove the existing shower screen and replace it with a barley framed shower screen with a sliding door and toughened glass.

The Solution
We completed our inspection and decided that a barley framed shower screen that had toughened glass and a right hand return sliding glass door.

Shower Screen Removal Andregrove

We carefully removed the existing shower shower so as not to damage any of the framed area. We took the shower screen back to our factory to recycle. We then measured out the area where the new shower screen would be inserted into.

Installation of the New Barley Framed Shower Screen

Using our measurements we supplied and installed the new shower screen. It is critical that frame is level so that the sliding shower doors will operate the way it was designed to.  The sliding door was made from three panels that opened to the right. One of the sliding doors was fixed while the other two slid. This is called an OXX setup. We created an angles flash inside and outside the shower screen for waterproofing.

The shower screen glass was Cathedral toughened. This type of glass is tempered through a furnace to 600 degrees Celcius and is very strong.

What are framed splayed sliding shower screens?

Framed Splayed Sliding Shower Screens are a type of shower enclosure designed to offer a sleek and modern look while being functional. Here’s a breakdown of what they are:

  • Framed: This means the shower screen has a visible metal frame around its edges. The frame provides support and structure for the glass panels and is usually made from materials like aluminium or stainless steel.
  • Splayed: This term refers to the design of the shower screen where the panels are angled or set in a slanted configuration. This can create a unique geometric look and can be practical for fitting the screen into a specific bathroom layout.
  • Sliding: The screen features sliding doors rather than hinged ones. This design is space-efficient because the doors move horizontally on a track rather than swinging outwards, making it ideal for smaller bathrooms.
  • Shower Screens: These are panels of glass or acrylic used to enclose a shower area, preventing water from splashing out and helping to contain the shower space.

So, a Framed Splayed Sliding Shower Screen combines a structured framed design with angled panels and sliding doors, offering both a stylish appearance and practical functionality.
