Kitchen Splashback Installation in Bakers Creek

Supply and Install 2 Piece Kitchen Splashback

The Project
The owner of this home wanted to add a glass splashback that sat behind the kitchen cooktop.

The Solution
We inspected the kitchen to see where the splashback was going to be installed. There were two power outlets that would need to be cut out of the glass. The client wanted the splashback to be green and to wrap around to the edge of the window.

Measuring and Installing the New Kitchen Splashback

The kitchen splashback was going to be installed between the benchtop and the overhanging cupboards. It would then run at right angles to the edge of the window. This would require two sections of glass. The end sections would need to be cut to allow access to the power outlets.

Measuring the working space is critical before installation. You cannot trust that all the angles are square.  Just a few millimetres difference from one end to the other can leave noticeable spaces.

Once we had the exact measurements it was determined that the splashback would be installed in two pieces and include GPO cutouts for the power points.

The necessary measurements must be extremely precise as once the glass toughening process has begun, no changes can be made. Only laminated safety glass may be drilled or cut once the glass has been toughened, not any other type of glass. Overall, most kitchen surfaces can accommodate the many artistic patterns of glass splashbacks; nevertheless, mounting toughened glass requires special attention.

What are the advantages of an inlive pivot shower door?

Glass kitchen splashbacks offer several advantages that make them a popular choice in modern kitchens:

1. Easy to Clean: Glass splashbacks have a smooth, non-porous surface that is easy to wipe clean. They don’t absorb splatters or stains like porous materials such as tiles.

2. Hygienic: Because of their smooth surface, glass splashbacks are hygienic and less likely to harbour bacteria or mould compared to materials with grout lines or textures.

3. Aesthetic Appeal: Glass splashbacks can create a sleek and contemporary look in the kitchen. They come in a variety of colours and can be customised to fit the kitchen’s design theme.

4. Reflective Properties: Glass reflects light, which can help brighten up the kitchen and make it feel more spacious, especially in smaller kitchens or those with limited natural light.

5. Durability: When properly installed, glass splashbacks are durable and resistant to heat, moisture, and impact. They are less prone to cracking or chipping compared to materials like tiles.

6. Versatility: Glass splashbacks can be installed behind stoves, sinks, and countertops, providing a seamless and continuous surface that is easy to maintain across the kitchen.

7. Color Options: They are available in a wide range of colours and finishes, including clear glass, tinted glass, frosted glass, and printed designs. This allows for customisation to match or contrast with kitchen cabinetry and countertops.

8. No Grout Lines: Unlike tiled splashbacks, glass splashbacks are installed as large, uninterrupted panels. This eliminates the need for grout lines that can accumulate dirt and require regular cleaning and maintenance.

9. Resistant to Chemicals: Glass is generally resistant to chemicals and cleaning agents, making it easy to maintain without special cleaners.

10. Increased Property Value: A well-designed and maintained glass splashback can add to the overall value and appeal of a home, especially in kitchens that are a focal point for potential buyers.

Overall, glass kitchen splashbacks combine practicality with aesthetic appeal, making them a popular choice for modern kitchens looking to achieve a clean, stylish look with minimal maintenance.
