Window Installation in North Mackay

Supply and Install Dark Grey Glass Windows

The Project
The owner of this house wanted to install black framed windows with dark grey glass. Each window was to include Prowler Proof guardian screens. We were also assigned to remove and dispose of the existing windows. In total, there were 11 windows.

The Solution
We inspected the home to see if there would be any issues in removing the windows. As this was a single storey home access was not an issue. There was no vegetation blocking any of the windows.

Installation of the New Framed Shower Screen

The first task is to number and then individually measure all the window frames. The measurements need to be to the millimetre. Once we had all the measurements we had the window frames built before removing the existing windows.

Window Removal North Mackay

We successfully removed all the windows and their frames. These window frames will be taken back to our factory to be cleaned and repaired. We will store the windows in case a future client needs a second-hand window frame.

Installing the sliding windows with screens

The client wanted the glass on the new windows to be dark grey for privacy. For added security and to keep the insects out we used Prowler Proof Guardian screens on all the windows. Because we measured all the window frame areas accurately the new windows slip into place perfectly.

What are the advantages dark grey glass windows?

Dark grey glass has several advantages, making it a popular choice in various applications:

  1. Aesthetic Appeal: Its sleek, modern look can enhance the visual appeal of both interior and exterior spaces. It often complements contemporary designs and can create a sophisticated, elegant atmosphere.
  2. Privacy: Dark grey glass offers a higher level of privacy compared to clear glass. It reduces the visibility from the outside while still allowing natural light to enter, making it ideal for office buildings, residential homes, and other spaces where privacy is important.
  3. Glare Reduction: This type of glass can help reduce glare from sunlight or artificial lighting. This makes it a good option for buildings with large glass facades or for spaces where managing light levels is crucial.
  4. UV Protection: Dark grey glass can offer better protection against harmful UV rays compared to clear glass. This helps in reducing fading of interior furnishings and materials due to prolonged exposure to sunlight.
  5. Heat Control: It can help in controlling solar heat gain. Darker glass absorbs more solar radiation, which can reduce heat buildup inside a building. This can contribute to improved energy efficiency by lessening the need for air conditioning.
  6. Enhanced Security: The additional tint can provide a layer of security by making it more difficult to see through the glass, thereby discouraging potential intruders.
  7. Energy Efficiency: By controlling heat gain and glare, dark grey glass can contribute to overall energy efficiency in buildings, potentially leading to lower electricity costs.
  8. Reduced Cleaning: In some cases, dark grey glass may show fewer fingerprints, smudges, and stains compared to clear glass, potentially reducing the frequency of cleaning required.

Each of these advantages can make dark grey glass a versatile and functional choice for a variety of applications, from residential windows to commercial facades.
